If you are blogging or doing article marketing for leads, by the end of this article you will be able to write much better content. Your epic content will be Liked more often for Facebook. You will get more tweets on Twitter. You will also get more social sharing on the social bookmarking sites. All of this will generate a flood of visitor to your content and massive amounts of leads for any type of business that you are running!


First, let me say that not every piece of content that you produce will be a masterpiece. It’s sad, but true. I am here to tell you that if you will follow this simple outline, that more of your content will fall into the epic category.


Of course not every article will be a life altering article. You may just be writing to entertain your audience.

Your headline


Your headline is what is supposed to attract the attention of your reader. It is meant to get the reader to be interested in reading your entire article. How can you accomplish this task? You will need to write headlines that are “theatrical.” You might call them flamboyant. You can exaggerate in your headline, but do not lie.


If you read my headline, it is now a bit more theatrical than it started out to be. The original headline was “How to write epic content.” Would that headline have grabbed your attention? Would it have made you want to read more?


I decided to add in some of the benefits that you will get if you are willing to learn this technique. I hope it made it sound more grandiose. You can read any newspaper’s headline and see how they use headlines to get more people to read their articles.


My mother taught me how to write when I was in high school. She said, “When you write, you want to tell them what you’re going to tell them. Then you tell them. Then you tell them what you just told them.”


I don’t think she invented that. I do think that it was Dale Carnegie who first said that. Correct me if I am wrong, please!

Your initial paragraph


This is the section that you are going to introduce them to what you are about to teach them. This is where you are going to tell them all the good things that will change for them if they are willing to read the entire article. You can restate any benefits that you used in your headline if you wish. Just expand on what you said in the headline.


The body of your article


This is where all the “meat” of your article will be. This is the section where you tell them what you were going to tell them.

If it is possible, you would like to break the body of your article down into subsections. They should consist of instructions and benefits. You should make a list of instructions for your reader. Almost like a road map. Write all of the instructions they will need to learn what you are teaching. Then write about the 3 of the most important benefits they will come away with.


You are here and this is the first step on your journey towards getting a fountain of new leads for your business. Then you write the second and third steps until you have them arrive at their destination. They’ve learned how to do something new that will help them.


I would also suggest that you make a list of objections that someone might have to actually implementing the course of action that you are writing about. There will be many people who will think that they can’t do it. Or they may think that there is no way that it would work. Choose what you think would be the 3 most common objections. Then you must make a convincing argument to answer those objections.


Once you have given the reader clear instructions, told them the benefits and answered the common objections, you are done with the body of the article. It’s time to wrap it up.


Summarize your article

You’ve told them what you’re going to tell them. Then you’ve told them what you wanted to tell them. Now you need to have a summary of what you just told them. You can tell them that since they have finished reading your article that now they now how to do something that they didn’t know how to do before they read your article.


For this article I might have said, “Now that you have read this article you should be able to write epic content that will generate a ton of new leads for you and your business.”


You’ve summarize how there could be objections to the method, but you have shown that there is nothing to fear. If you just follow your instructions your reader will be great at what ever your article was about.


You can invite your readers to address any questions directly to you. Anything that you can do to encourage interaction between you and your readers will go a long way toward building that trusting relationship that you want to have with them.


Notice that I have broken this article into sections with clear headers. If someone needs to refer back to any one section it will be easier for them to find. This makes it more likely that your entire article will be read and it also makes it more likely to be shared.
