An advertising co-op can solve many of the your problems you are having
Fillet of a fenny snake
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting,
Lizard’s leg and howlet’s wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
That of course is from Macbeth by William Shakespeare.
I thought that I’d take a page from ol’ Billy and cook up my own evil scheme! I hope you like it.
So I thought I’d try to kill 3 or 4 birds with one stone. It seems that most network marketers are afraid of approaching new people to ask them about joining their businesses. Well, that’s not what you are supposed to do anyway but for illustrative purposes, we’ll say that it is.
Even if you get someone to sign up, they usually don’t want to invest much money, if any, to make their businesses work.
And for the most part no one knows what to do anyway. Chase you friends and neighbors and bug them to join or should you just leave them alone? Use the internet or not? So many unanswered questions to deal with.
Then there is the never ending problem of generating new leads. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me how to generate leads, I’d be retired by now!
So I sat down and tried to figure out how to solve some or all of these problems with one felled swoop.
You will be creating your own advertising co-op.
What’s a what? A co-op?
A co-op is defined as: (n) cooperative, co-op (a jointly owned commercial enterprise (usually organized by farmers or consumers) that produces and distributes goods and services and is run for the benefit of its owners)
The services that our co-op will be offering are advertising services.
You will have to decide exactly how your group will do it’s advertising but you should be looking for a method that is highly effective but costs a fair amount of money to get it to work. Your group needs to be able to generate a lot of leads every month and it should be expensive enough to where most people probably wouldn’t feel comfortable spending that amount of money of a new business or one that has not had any success as of yet.
I’ll give you a couple of examples so you will know what I am talking about.
Google or Facebook PPC. Any PPC campaign can get to be cost prohibitive. With Google you could literally, spend thousands of dollars to generate enough leads. So although, PPC ads work and get you the kind of targeted leads you want, most people can’t afford it.
You could place display ads in national magazines. These ads can be seen by hundreds of thousands of subscribers each month. If you pick the right magazines, you can generate the high quality leads you need. But again these types of ads can run thousands of dollars.
I actually had good success with PPC through Google about 6 years ago. Prices for keywords have risen quite a lot in those years. You can read my post that explains why I am blogging for leads here.
Whatever method of advertising you choose, it just has to meet that criteria.
Now for the creation of your advertising co-op and what it can do for you.
You will need to put together a team of approximately 9 people. That will make you group a total of 10 people. This cuts the cost of advertising down by 1/10th. This makes it affordable for most people. That’s the main thing that you want. You need for this to be affordable for most people!
There are two different ways of doing the dividing up of the payments. You could equally divide the total by 10 since there are 10 people in the group. You could also divide the total payments by 9, this would give you, as the organizer, a no cost way of generating leads. This would be your compensation for forming the group and running the placing advertisements for the group.
You decide what you’d like to do. It will be a fair amount of work forming the group and running the day to day operations.
Once the infrastructure is set up you can actually go out and start approaching people with the idea. You will be looking for people who are already in the network marketing business. But you may find others who are not in the business at this time.
You can approach anyone with this offer. Your warm market or the next guy on the street.
Your approach should go something like this:
“Hi. I was wondering if you know anyone who is doing MLM at the moment?”
They can either reply yes, to your question or no. Or they could ask you why?
If they ask why, you tell them that, “I have created an advertising co-op to generate new leads every month and I am looking for people in the business that you could offer this to. I’m here to help and it doesn’t cost anything to be part of this. We just split the costs of advertising and divide up the leads that are generated. Do you know anyone who might be interested in this?”
Now, they may be in the business and you never knew it. They may be interested in something like this too. So be prepared to explain how this plan works and when it will be put into action.
If they say yes, just ask for the name and phone number of the person.
If they say no, you could ask if they had considered joining the right MLM company. Yours. Invite them to see your company’s business presentation!
When you call the leads that you have for your co-op, you are just there to invite them to join you in the advertising co-op. You are not there to recruit anyone.
You will have to decide many things about your co-op. Will you just invite people that are in your own company? Will you only invite people who are in other MLMs? Or a combination of both?
You could make the leads a big pool that everyone can market to or you could equally divided all the leads the come in to the group.
No matter what you decide you will be competing with them at some level.
I’m not going to go into the nuts and bolts of this strategy at this time. I hope you see the benefits that could be conveyed to all who participate in the co-op.
This strategy gives you an easy way to approach new people. This will give even the most reluctant person, the practice time that they need in talking to new people. It is a nonthreatening way of contacting people.
It shows everyone that you have a plan of action and they can be part of it too. You will be seen as the leader of the group and this will translate to your own down line. As you build your own team, in your own company, you will be inviting them to join a separate advertising co-op.
You can have as many co-ops as you need and you can have as many people involved with each as you think it can handle. My thought is to keep it around 10 people per group.
Here is my disclaimer: I put this strategy out there for your consideration. If you like it and use it, I take no responsibility for failures or lost monies. Most people loss money in this business. What makes you think you’re any different? You should answer, that you read my blog! Also, if you make this work, there is no need to send me any money to compensate me for sharing this idea with you!
No, I don’t know what fenny snake is.
