younique review

I chose to review Younique because, in it’s short history, they have been one of the most popular and fastest growing network marketing companies. Does this mean it is a good company for you to join or not?

If you are thinking about joining this company, you should read as many company reviews as you can find. Be sure that the reviews you read are not written by current members of the Younique opportunity. They are probably there to try to recruit you into the business and may not give you an unbiased review.

My review of Younique will be an independent one. I am not, nor have I ever been a distributor of Younique products or their business opportunity.

Whether you are thinking of joining this company or any other network marketing company, I would urge you to do your own due diligence. I strive to provide you with useful information that should give you a good start into examining this company. Remember, this is only a start!

People frequently lose money, while trying to build any network marketing business.

Younique reviews – the company and its history

Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft, a brother-and-sister team, founded Younique in September 2012.

Younique is a direct sales company and not a network marketing company. This means that the emphasis is on selling the products and not on recruiting. They o have an MLM component. You can earn overrides on the sales that your downline generates.

The company has been in business for less than 3 years. If a network marketing company is going to fail, they usually fail in the first 5 years. Although, though this company seems to be built on products that are in high demand, the fact that they are so new is a red flag.

Derek Maxfield is the company’s current CEO

Melanie Huscroft is the company’s Chief Product Officer and Chief Sales Officer

operating in 6 countries

Younique is currently operating in 6 countries. These include the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. They have over 256,000 “active” presenters, worldwide.

Younique reviews – their financials

Younique is a privately held company and no financial information is available at this time.

Younique reviews – their Better Business Bureau rating

Younique has been an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau since October 2014. Currently, they have a rating of “A.” I like to see that a company has at least an “A” rating, which they do. This does meet my criteria.

Their corporate offices are located at:

2889 Ashton Blvd, Suite 150
Lehi, UT 84043

The phone number to their headquarters is: (801) 207-9753

Younique reviews – their products

Currently, Younique has 50 different products in 6 different categories. The categories are as follows:

Eyes

Lips

Face

Tools

Collections

Sets

Younique Products Page

You can also download a product catalog here: Younique’s Product Catalog

I always advise people who might be interested in joining any company to buy some of the products first. You need to find out if the products are good enough for you to sell. There is nothing worse than feeling like a prospective customer could buy better products from someone else.

their products

On their website they are showing prices ranging from $15.00 – $65.00 for their individual products.

Moodstruck Precision Pencil Eye Liner is $15.00

Uplift Eye Serum is $65.00

Some of the Sets and Collections can run as high as $220.00 or more. Some are less, as well.

You are not able to purchase the products directly from the company. You do need to find a Presenter or go to a home party. If you go on their website, you can add items to your shopping cart. It does look like you can purchase products directly from the company. This is not the case. When you get to the checkout phase, you will be asked for your presenter’s name or account number. Don’t let the fear of having to compete with the company scare you away, because you aren’t doing that!

Although, going to a home party is probably the quickest and easiest way to see and use the products, but you do run the risk of having the Presenter chasing you around town to join them.

You could find a Younique demonstration party to buy the products or you could go on Amazon and find products there.

It seems that there haven’t been very many sales of these products on Amazon. The reviews are good, but they are on just a few of the products.

Younique reviews – what monthly fees can you expect?

1. Is there a required autoship program?

Technically, there is no autoship requirements. You do have to have sales that total approximately $125.00 (Personal Retail Sales) over the course of a rolling 3 month period. A rolling 3 month period is the total of the 3 previous months. The sales can be sales to the public or you could purchase the products, for yourself. If there is a 3 month period that you don’t meet this requirement your account goes inactive and your replicated websites will not function. Basically, you are out of business until you get sales to reach the $125.00 total.

younique compensation plan

You need to be “active” in order to be commissionable. Active being defined as having the $125.00 of total sales for the previous 3 months.

2. Are there any ongoing, monthly fees?

Younique does not have any on going monthly fees.

3. Are there any other fees?

There are no other fees. They do not have an annual renewal fee.

Younique review – business opportunity and the compensation plan

There are 8 levels in their compensation plan. You will start out on the White level and you can work your way up to the Black level.

The first graphic shows what you need to do in order to qualify for each level. The second graphic shows you what you get in commissions and bonuses, at each level.

They also a car bonus. Only 6 Presenters have qualified to get the car payment allowance, so far.

Younique review – their income disclosure statement

I haven’t been able to locate an income disclosure statement on the internet. I am going to call the company to ask for one, but I’ve found that if the company doesn’t publish that document, they usually won’t give it out when requested.

I did call the company and the rep told me that they do not provide that information.

They did publish one statistic on their website. It says:

The recruitment and sales figures posted here are achieved only by approximately less than the top 0.02 % of Presenters.”

This figure is in line with the typical numbers I have seen in other company’s Income Disclosure Statements.

As of July 31, 2015, there are 102 people who have reached the top level of this company’s compensation plan. That’s out of the total presenters in the world, not just the “active presenters.”

The Rising Stars page of their website.

Younique review – the Presenter agreement and Policies and Procedures manual

I asked for these documents and I was told that I could read them when I signed up with the company. I told them that I needed a copy to let me attorney read before I joined. They were unimpressed.

younique wouldn't give me the documents

I was also told that they have a policies and procedures manual, but I couldn’t look at it until after I joined.

(I don’t understand why some companies won’t provide this information. Is the $99.00 that important to them?)

Younique review – is this the right company for you?

The main thing against joining this company is that it is so new. The products seem to be in demand and their website is highly trafficked. If you decide that you want to be working with a makeup and cosmetics company, then this might be the right place for you.

Obviously, I can’t decide for you. You will need to weigh your options and think about all of the information that this article contains. Please do your own investigation of this and any other company that you are considering.

Is Younique a scam?

Being that Younique is in the cosmetics niche, there may be some that might think that they are a scam. Let me assure that Younique is a good and strong company. In my opinion, they are in no way a scam!

younique scam?

As always, if you are thinking about joining this company, do your own due diligence.

The person who sponsors you is just as critical to your success as the information that is contained in my review of this company.

In the end, you must be willing to sell the products and recruit people into the business. It helps, a lot, if you are enthusiastic about, both, the company and their products!

I am wishing you the best of luck in your network marketing journey!
