If you are here because you are thinking about opening your new business, know that  I have never been shy about telling people not to bother.  For the most part, businesses fail.  They fail rather quickly and expensively as well.


It will take a lot of your time and money to start a business with very little up side for a year or two or more.  You just have to “do your time” until you start to turn a profit.


After you turn a profit you will most likely just have traded your 40 hour a week job for an 80 hour a week job.


I have written about the upside to owning your own business.


I do own my own business, offline.  It is a home cleaning company and I have been in business for nearly 28 years, now.  I actually worked in the cleaning side of things for 17 years before I hurt my back and had to hire people to take over for me until I recovered.  By then I realized that I could make a living by just managing the business and that’s what I have done for the past 10 years.


Once you are able to leave the actual working part of business, it gets easier!  But not by much.


With all the extra time on my hands, I decided to try another business.  I am involved in network marketing.  The company that I am in business with is called [Removed].  I’m not here to tell you about that.


I chose to get involved in MLM because I wanted to help people to find a way to make an extra income, so that they could realize their dreams, whatever they are.  Maybe they just need to pay off credit cards or go on a vacation of a lifetime.  Or maybe they dream big and want a larger home or to retire early.


Not everyone can start an offline business.  It can be expensive to get up and running.  It can be time consuming to start a business.  You will  need a lot of capital to keep the business running and not everyone can afford it.


But almost everyone with a dream can dig up $300 to get started in network marketing.


If you read my comments above, you see that I usually tell people not to bother with starting a business.  It’s not that people can’t build a business.  I truly believe that anyone can build a network marketing business.  Anyone!






The difference between success and failure rests in having or not having a business plan.


You need to be able to put other people in front of your company’s business presentation.


This means that you need to “meet” a lot of people and tell them about it.  Now maybe you meet people offline.  There is a lot to be said about doing that.  You get that face to face trust factor, immediately.  A smile goes a long way in today’s world.  Meeting someone offline means that you are not a faceless name on a website.  You are a real, live human being.  It’s much easier to build a relationship with someone that you have face to face contact with.


That’s not to say that you can’t “meet” people online.  It’s just a little tougher to do some of the things that you need to do in order to build a business.  Because, after all, you are a faceless name on a website.  Even if you have your picture on your site.  No one knows whether you are a nice person or an ax murderer.  Or whether you are the type who will help them to build their own business or just someone looking to recruit people quickly?


The upside to meeting people online is that you can meet tons of people.  Literally, a whole world of people.

The key to success in any MLM is convincing enough people that you will really be there to help them build a business.  They need to know that you will be there for them.  That you will teach them the skills that they will need to be successful.


Can you do that?




For me, I show people that they can be successful in their own business by just doing what I do.  I blog for leads.  It is relatively inexpensive to do.  It is fairly easy to do.  I can and do teach people how to do this effectively.


So how do you generate new leads?  Can you teach people how to do what you do to generate those leads?  If you really do this and do this effectively, then you can and will be successful in network marketing!


All you need to do is to tell everyone what you have to offer them.  What do you have to offer them?  You hold the key to realizing any dream that anyone might have.  You know how to be successful in the network marketing business.  That’s what you have to offer them!


When someone says to you, “I’ve tried that and it didn’t work for me.”  You just have to tell them that you can actually hold their hand and walk them through the entire lead generation process.  You can’t do the work for them but you can tell them what needs to be done and teach them how to do it.

If you are like me and are blogging for leads, show them your site.  Teach them how to do it and then help them to get started.  You can sponsor and train a lot of people at the same time with the internet.


Everyone, and I do mean everyone, has the potential to be a success in this business most won’t do the work or worse, they will never be shown how to do the work that will make them a success.


The first thing that you need is a plan to generate new leads that anyone can duplicate and then go shout it at the top of your lungs.  How great will it feel to actually help someone to achieve their goals instead of sponsoring them and leaving them to fail?
