There are prospects for your business, everywhere!
You may not be saying that … yet. I’m here to tell you that you should be able to say that in short order. Now why would I make that claim? Because it’s fairly easy to find people who want what we have to offer.
As a network marketer, you have at least 3 things to offer people. All three of them are very much needed. The first is more money. The second is more time to spend as they would like. Lastly, we offer people a tax write off.
I put “more money” first because I believe that most people’s primary need is more money. Let’s take a look at the numbers and see if that might be true.
I know that by the time I am done with this you’ll have that “deer in the headlights” look on your face, but bare with me.
There are approximately 120,000,000 households in America. The median income on these households is about $52,000 per year. Keep in mind that $52,000 in not the average income. It is in the middle of all incomes.
Here are the totals of the debts owed by all Americans.
It’s nearly $12 trillion. That looks like this: $12,000,000,000,000. Breaking it down it looks like this.
There is $8 trillion in mortgage debt.
There is nearly $1 trillion in credit card debt.
There is over $1 trillion in student loans.
I’m not sure where the other $2 trillion is owed. Perhaps, personal loans, automobile loans and medical bills.
Those are very scary numbers!
Wouldn’t it be nice to get the interest income from all of that?
Now we’ll look at the amount of debt that these household are likely to have.
The average household has credit card debt of about $15,000. The average mortgage debt is about $150,000. For those households that have a student loan, the average is over $32,000.
Now for the bad news. Like all of that isn’t bad enough.
The median, after taxes, income of American households is just $38,000.
That is about $3,200 per month to live on. That’s $3,200 to pay rent or a mortgage. Pay for food, phone, electricity, a car payment or car repairs, gasoline, insurances of all kinds and credit cards debts.
If they have a student loan, add that in too. Then, ideally, they’d like to put some of their money into savings. Looking at all these numbers, how likely is that?
Okay, enough of the numbers. What does all of this mean?
It means that the average households needs to be making more money. A lot of them need more money just to make it each month. Many have their heads above water, but they are living paycheck to paycheck. The bottom line is that if something out of the ordinary happens that cost a household much money at all, most will not make it financially.
It has been my experience that most people are broke at different levels. Most Americans, no matter how much money they make at their jobs, live beyond their means. If you are making $52,000 per year, most likely you are spending all of that and more. If you are making $100,000 per year, you are spending every penny of that and more. You just have nicer things. Like a bigger house in a nicer neighborhood. A better car to drive. More insurance, etc.
Just a few more numbers.
Over 1,000,000 people, per year, are filing for bankruptcy.
To most people who are living paycheck to paycheck, financial freedom is probably a pipe dream. Do we, as network marketers, need to “sell” them on financial freedom? Probably not. As little as $500-$1,000 a month would make all the difference in the world to most people. It would keep most of them out of bankruptcy and for those who are treading water, it would get them out of the water.
Who knew it could be so easy to change so many lives?
A recent survey showed that over 75% of people are living paycheck to paycheck. You can find the entire article here.
Anyone you happen to talk to is more than likely in need of more money.
My suggestion is to come up with a plan that most people can follow to make $500.00 per month. Then start prospecting using that plan. The easiest way might be to sell enough of your company’s products to make that $500.00.
If you can make $20.00 per sale, you only need 25 monthly customers!
Sounds like a plan to me! Now get to work!! You’ll be drowning in prospects, soon enough!
