I was out today, training for the upcoming marathon. That’s in 3 1/2 weeks. I mention that only because I had 2 hours to think about things while I was out there. So …
You’ve found my blog. Either you got here from an invitation or a search engine sent you here. Either way, you are here to get some sort of information. Well, today is your lucky day.
The first thing I thought of was that I need to change the subtitle of my blog. It started out being a blog about the different methods of marketing that are available to you. But, quite frankly, I get bored easily and I have delved into a lot of different aspects of conducting a business, with a focus on network marketing. So I’ll change it to something like Network Marketing Done Right. Or something to that effect. Not that it will make any difference to you but hey, it’s my blog I’ll write what I want to. Sound like a song! Anyway…
See I told you it was your lucky day!
The second thing that I thought about was when are you going to build your business? That’s where the title comes from … If not now … When?
Okay, so you’re probably here because you are in an MLM and you haven’t been able to make it work for you or you are thinking about joining an MLM.
Either way, I’d like to reach through your computer screen and shake you by your shoulders.
We have a great business model to be in with network marketing. It’s simple but not easy. If it was easy everyone would be doing it.
So why the shaking you ask.
Because never has there been a better time to build a network marketing business. The economy stinks and it is getting worse … no matter what CNBC says. Unemployment is said to be 8.3% and I can tell you that it is at least twice that, in real life. People’s wages are falling and fear of layoffs has never been
higher. Personal debt is rising. Student loan debt is over $1,000,000,000, that’s over $1 trillion! People who have jobs are working 2, sometimes 3 jobs to make ends meet.
These are perilous times we are living in.
So I ask you again, If not now … When?
If you are reading my blog you should at least have some idea of what to do to build a business. If you haven’t been here before look around and stop by often. That’s my little commercial for the blog!
If you think about your business as a way to help people with their problems you will go along way.
For example. A student who just graduate college probably is saddled with $40,000 to $50,000 of debt and it could be higher if they went to a better school. No offense meant there. How in the world are they going to pay off that kind of debt? It could take them a life time do pay it all back. Ask a recent grad what they are going to do about their loans. You probably will be met with a blank stare. They’re lost. They are overwhelmed with the thought of working the rest of their lives to pay the debt off.
That’s where you can help.
The person working 3 jobs has it tough and you can help. Wouldn’t they just love to get rid of 1 of those jobs? They have proven that they are hard workers. What more could you ask for?
That’s where you can help.
I hope you see the “helping” theme here! You are not in the recruiting business. You are in the helping business! Remember that next time you talk to a friend who has had their hours cut back at their job or to the person who just lost their job.
Yes, you are in the helping business, not the bugging my friends and neighbors business. You are there to help and you have a plan. You better be working your plan as well. Nothing worse than someone who talks the talk and doesn’t work the plan! You where expecting a different ending weren’t you?
I told you it was your lucky day!
I ask you again, If not now … When?
Are you too embarrassed of your opportunity? Do you have so little confidence in it or in yourself to talk to people about it?
This time it is different! You should have a marketing plan in place. You should be working the plan. You should have results to show people that you aren’t full of fluff. You should have all the confidence in the world. Why don’t you?
You’re now a leader, a teacher and a helper. You are someone who will help others to find success in this business, where all others have failed to help.
If someone doesn’t want the extra work or just doesn’t want to do the work, that’s fine. At least they got the information from you, they saw your company’s business plan and they had the chance to make their own decision. Because they need to make their own decision! It’s not up to you.
I’ve actually said that to people before. “You can say no, that’s fine but I need you to make your own decision about this.” Or “I was going to exclude you from this business but I thought that you should make that decision not me.”
This stuff is simple but is not easy.
I know you’re going to have to suck it up to do this stuff. But you can do it.
Approach people with a mindset of, how can I help you?
Never has there been a better opportunity to build a business!
So I’ll ask one last time, If not now … When?
