Network marketing meetings are important!
If you happen to be in that elite, top .01% of network marketer, then you might think that you don’t have to go to any of the network marketing meetings that you company has. You might not think that it’s important to attend the local events or meetings that the local groups are sponsoring. I’m here to tell you that you should go to every event and meeting that’s possible for you to attend. Where else can you go and inspire so many people at one time? Yes, they’ll likely want to pick your brain during and after the meeting, but think about how many distributors that you will help.
For the rest of us, you should be attending every meeting that you can, as well. If you have a downline, it is your duty to try to get as many of them to attend the meetings, too. But why?
Meetings can be long and boring! They repeat the same things over and over and over again. Do I have to go? Well, no. You don’t have to go. Then again, you don’t have to build a business, either.
Do distributors really need to attend the meetings in order to build a business? I’m going to go out on a limb and say yes!
Let’s look at the life expectancy of a network marketing distributor. What happens to the average distributor? They sign up and their sponsor might get paid for bringing them into the business. The sponsoring distributor probably tells the new recruit to read the material in their kit and familiarize themselves with the products. They will probably tell them to make a list of everyone they know and then they tell them to go out and talk to all of those people.
If it was that easy, everyone would do it. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. If you send a new and untrained distributor into their warm market, they will be gone within the month. I would hope that your company or at least your upline would be having training meetings that the new distributor could attend. That would give them a fighting chance of making it in network marketing.
If you can’t find a training meeting then I would suggest that you hold one of your own. That sounds scary, right? You may have no idea what to teach your downline. You need to start reading books, listening to CDs and talking to people in your company to find ideas on how and what to teach people in order to give them the best chances in this business.
I think that everyone should attend their local meetings. You will put yourself in the company of dozens of like minded people. This will be a place to share war stories, help others to get through the rejection and pain of this business and to learn new ideas on how to build a network marketing empire!
Likewise, all distributors should attend their company’s nation convention. The main problem with the national convention is that you get all charged up and then you go home. The inspiration kind of fades after a few days or a week. However, if you go to a local meeting every week, you may be able to keep that inspiration going all year ’round!
Just being around other people, in the same business, is beneficial. You get the camaraderie, you get an ear to bend and you get to learn from other people.
Don’t cheat yourself out of the opportunity to be a part of something that is bigger than you! Go to the meeting and learn from others and as you grow you can help new distributors who are coming up behind you!
