Developing a daily plan of action for your network marketing business

Having a daily plan of action will let you

run your business more efficiently!a daily plan of action can help you

I like to think of myself as a fairly organized person. Just don’t look at the top of my desk. I always say that it’s organized chaos. I kind of know where everything is, but not always.

When it comes to a daily plan of action for my network marketing business, I hate to admit it, but I don’t have one that’s written down. I do have one, but it’s not on paper. I do manage to get most of the thing that I want to do each day, done.

I’ve always been one that used a note card and I just write down what I want to do that day. If I get it all done, then great. If not, I start tomorrow’s card off with those things that didn’t get done today. It works for me.

I don’t know what you do or if you feel like you have no plan and have no idea what you need to get done each day. The worst thing that can happen is that you don’t know what to do so you just do nothing. Nothing isn’t very much to do and if you have too many days where nothing gets done, more than likely you’ll quit your business.

Having a daily action plan is critical to your success in network marketing.

I’ve heard it said, about network marketing, that it doesn’t matter what you’re willing to do – it only matters what you’re willing to do every day!

How much time do you have for network marketing?

network markting takes a lot of time

If you’re like the average American, you’re getting about 6.8 hours of sleep per night. If you have a 9 to 5 job, like most network marketers, with a 30 minute commute to work, that’s about 9 hours of your day. That’s about 17 hours of your day that’s already spoken for. That leaves you with 7 hours to do with as you please. How will you use them?

Unfortunately, most of those hours are going to be between 5:30 pm and midnight.

You do have your weekends. Are you willing to devote some of that time to build your business? I believe that the number of hours that you’re willing to give your business will, ultimately, determine your success level and how long it will take you to get there.

I really like to see network marketers give their businesses at a minimum of 14 hours per week on the money producing activities and a few more on the non-income producing things.

There are only 4 main income producing activities in network marketing. They are finding people to talk to about your company and their products, selling your company’s products, recruiting people into your business and training and helping the people that you’ve recruited.

Then there are the non-income producing activities like working on personal growth, your mindset and getting training to learn the skills that you need like becoming a better communicator, how to meet new people and how to overcome the sales objections that we all get. You can learn those types of things by reading books, listening to CDs or podcasts and other ways like taking courses and attending webinars. The quickest way is to hire a coach and learn from their experiences.

Making your action plan

Everyone is different so I’m not going to suggest a daily action plan for you. I’d suggest putting in about 14 hours per week into generating new leads and talking to them. You can use that time to follow up as well. You can use use the weekends to do training for your team.

The main thing is to block out a certain amount of time, each day, to do certain tasks.  Do those tasks until they are complete or until the time you’ve allotted runs outs.  You can continue what you were doing the next day.  If it’s critical to your business, then, by all means, do it to completion.

You can use the time you have later in the evening to do the non-income producing activities like going through a course or reading a book. I like to read a book for about 20 minutes before going to sleep.

You’ll find a daily plan of action that works for you. Just make sure that you stick with it long enough to start to produce positive results!
