Is duplication the be all and end all?
Can your system be duplicated? You hear this in network marketing almost every day. If you can’t duplicated then it’s not worth doing. Is that true?
For many years I’ve believed that any system that you use has to be duplicate-able. Until now.
What is duplication?
Duplication means that anyone can do it and do it again. You would want it to be something that is easy and affordable. Something that is stupid simple! Something that even a caveman could do.
What kind of systems are there?
You have online methods that have been developed over the past 15 years or so. Then you have the more traditional methods that have been used since the beginning of network marketing.
Online systems include the typical internet marketing systems like article marketing and blogging. Then you have the various ad networks. These include banner ads and text ads. You can use Google’s Adwords or Facebook ads. You can use social media to meet and greet new people. You can use video marketing. Video marketing on YouTube continues to increase in popularity.
You can use the belly to belly method or the 3 foot rule. Basically, you talk to someone face to face. There is your warm market. Then you can move into the cold market. You can cold call leads that you have purchased. You can advertise in newspapers or magazines. You can hand out fliers and advertise your business that way.
My question is this, is there anything in there that someone can’t do or at least learn how to do?
Most of these methods are fairly simple.
Why would I think that everyone on my team should or would want to use the same method of building a business that I am using? Is this a one size fits all kind of business? I don’t think so. It’s very naive to think that everyone or anyone would do the same things that you are doing. Everyone has their own set of strengths and weaknesses.
Suppose you have a lot of money and you decide that the best way to spend that money is on Adwords. Not everyone is going to be able to afford to build a business that way. Should you say no to Adwords? Should you just not build your business your way because there are some people on your team who don’t have that kind of money to run Adwords campaigns?
Why shouldn’t you do what works best for you?
Personally, I’m not very good at the one on one, face to face stuff. I can do it, but I don’t really like it. Would the 3 foot rule method work for me? Probably not. If my sponsor is using that method, because it can be duplicated, should I be forced to use that method as well? If I was stuck having to use the 3 foot rule method, I’d probably quit.
I’m pretty good at webinars. I’ve probably done 100 of them over the years. I could do that, but not everyone would be comfortable talking to a group of people, even if it is online.
I don’t think that you need to have a “team system.” A system that everyone uses just because everyone should be able do it.
Use whatever method or system that works for you! You should have a good understanding of how to use other systems and methods. That way you can each those that want to use something different.
Please, don’t get hung up on using a method just because you’re told that everyone can duplicate it.
