A good friend of mine and fellow network marketer called me yesterday. Apparently, he had been reading my blog. He asked me why I had been bashing network marketing, lately. I said, “Lately? Where have you been?” He must not have read much of my blog. I told him to read the whole thing and get back to me.

 

I can’t wait for that conversation.

 

I was introduced to network marketing back in the early 1980s. I was 3 years old! I swear! I’ve been in at least 7 or 8 different companies over the years. I actually had success in one of those companies. I reached the top level of it. You can read about it here. I made network marketing work … once.

 

I actually like the concept of network marketing. That’s in spite of all the negative things that I’ve said about the industry, lately. It does have a lot of redeeming qualities. That’s what brings me to my computer tonight.

 

I’m going to attempt to write down all of the positive qualities that network marketing brings to the table.

The best thing about network marketing is that the people who are “above” you are supposed to help you to build your business.

 

Another good quality of network marketing is the fact that if you want to start a business, a network marketing business is relatively cheap. You can, literally, get started with a network marketing business for less than $1,000.00. Most are under $500.00. There aren’t very many businesses that you could start with that kind of money.

 

The return on your investment can be phenomenal. It is possible to turn that $1,000.00 into $100,000 per year income. The last I heard that is about the same income that the average McDonald’s franchise owner.

 

Speaking of income. In network marketing, a lot of your income will be residual income. That’s the really good kind of income! After you build a team and they are all building their own teams, you will get paid for everyone’s efforts. You probably will still be building your organization but, you could stop working and still continue to have an income. It’s getting paid, forever, while only having to do the work once. This one feature draws more people into the business than just about anything else.

In a traditional business you are limited to the amount of area that you can provide your service or products. If you have a job in sales, they will probably give you a sales territory. If you open a corner store, you are limited by how far your customers are will to drive to get to you. If you happen to be a plumber, in business for yourself, you will be limited by how far you are willing to drive to get to a customer.

 

In network marketing you have none of these limitations. Unless, your company only does business in certain states or countries. In theory, you could build a network marketing empire that spans the globe.

 

The limitations that traditional business places on you concerning the amount of territory that you can cover, also place a limit on the amount of money that you can earn. This is not the case in network marketing. You organization could be 1,000 people or it could be 1,000,000. You could build your business in 1 state or in 30 countries. There is no limit to the size that your organization can be or to the amount of money that you can earn.

Owning any kind of business affords you certain tax advantages. You can deduct certain expenses that you will incur in the course of running your business. I’m not going to go into any specifics, as I am not an accountant.

 

In network marketing, you can associate with like minded people. These are fellow entrepreneurs. They either think like you do, or they want to think like you do. That is, if you are successful.

 

Once you become successful in network marketing, you will get your time back. Take it back from “the man!”

 

No more 8am to 5pm drag. No more commute, in heavy traffic. No more hating Monday mornings. You won’t have to wait until the weekend to live your life! No more job and no more boss. You will decide when you work and when you play. You will have the lifestyle that you want.
