Are you making these 4 mistakes in your network marketing business?

Common mistakes in network marketing

network marketing mistakes

I know that there are tons of mistakes that the average network marketer makes in the course of their career. It doesn’t seem to matter if they are trying to build their business is online or offline, these mistakes are made by nearly everyone.

What are they?

Here is a list of 4 of the most common mistakes made by the average network marketer.

The company

The first mistake is that they tell everyone that they’ve joined a network marketing business. On the surface that may not seem too bad. If you opened a restaurant, you’d probably want to tell everyone that you know about it. If you opened a bicycle shop, you’d tell everyone that you know, who rides a bicycle, that you’re in business. It would seem that sharing good news is what everyone wants to do.

However, the network marketing business is different than a traditional business. You can blame just about everyone who came before you. Let’s face it, network marketing is like the wicked stepsister of the business world. People don’t see it as a “real business.” Most network marketers are seen at about the same level as a stereotypical used car salesman. Hmm, that’s not good.

As soon as you tell someone the good news, that you’re in a network marketing business, you hear the whispers behind your back. “Ohhh, they’re in one of those things.” Some of the other things that you’ll hear are much more colorful than that!

The products

The second mistake that most network marketers are making is to tell everyone all about the products that they are selling. If you start off with the list of ingredients, you’ll lose almost everyone. No one really wants to know that your skin care products are made from the fungus that grows on the underside of a mushroom that is only found in the Amazon jungle. You’ll probably see a “deer in the headlights” look on their face.

Besides, as soon as you mention that you have a product, you’ll set off their salesperson alarm. That will have them running for the hills!

The wrong target market

There are probably a lot of people who would be in the market for whatever product you are selling, but not everyone will be interested in them. If you are trying to sell a weight loss shake powder that costs $150.00 per month, do you think that you be able to sell it to the person who is used to buying Slim Fast at the Walmart, that costs them $15.00 per month? Maybe, if you’re a terrific salesperson, but it’s going to take a lot of work to do that. That’s the third mistake that most network marketers are making.

Quitting too soon

The statistics say that 75% of all network marketers quit in their first 90 days. The thought of having to spend 5-7 years building a successful business is way too much for most people. If they don’t make their fortune in the first 90 days, they quit. Make a commitment to your future. Stay in business for the long haul and you’ll have a much better chance of finding success.

There’s my list of the 4 mistakes that most network marketers are making. I see this so much on social media, as well. The new distributor puts their company’s logo on the social media accounts. They tell all about the products, without seeing who would be interested in learning more about them. This kind of marketing strategy rarely, if ever, works and within 90 days they quit the business.

They go to the next company and the cycle starts all over.
