Network marketing – it takes work to succeed

Network marketing = work!

network marketing success takes work

There have been many, many network marketers who have told their prospects and new recruits that network marketing is easy. They’ve told them that network marketing is a piece of cake. Have you had someone tell you that the products sell themselves? How about that everyone will want this business.

If you’ve heard any of these things or if you’ve told someone any of these things, know that you’re not alone. Making network marketing seem like it’s something that it’s not as difficult as it is has been a sales tactic, probably since the beginning.

You may be able to trick someone into the business by saying these things, but as soon as that shine wears off the work will show through.

According to Google, the definition of work is this: activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.

Let me ask you this one question if someone told you that something was easy and it turns out to be way more difficult than you were told, what would you do?

Some people might rise to the occasion and keep doing it until that got good at it. Some people would get mad at the person who told them that it would be easy, most people would just give up and go away, quietly.

In the case of network marketing, they give up, but they don’t always go away quietly. When network marketing isn’t as easy as they were told and the products don’t sell themselves, the ex-network marketer will go out and tell the world that network marketing is terrible, it’s not a good business model and they’ll have no problem using the “S” word. Yes, they’ll call it a scam!

Work your plan!

do you have a plan for your network marketing success

Network marketing is a skills-based business. It not only takes work, it takes a lot of work. We’ve all heard the stories of people going on the social media and hitting the big time in a year or even 6 months. Those are the exceptions and not the rule.

I believe that when you talk to someone about how long it takes to become success that you should say that it will take a concerted effort of at least 3 to 5 years and maybe it could take as long as 7 to 10 years. Being hit by this reality is a real eye-opening experience. Most people aren’t willing to put in that much time in order to be successful in anything. They are all too happy to stay in job that they might not like and it may never give them the kind of lifestyle that they’ve been dreaming of.

There’s nothing wrong with a job. Maybe you’ll work the same job for 45 years and then retire. Or maybe you’ll change jobs throughout your life and work for many different companies for 45 years and then retire. Either way, you’ll end up working and working and working.

Hopefully, you’ll be one of those retirees who can retire with a comfortable lifestyle and not one of the ones that end up being a door greeter at the local Wal-Mart or a table washer at the McDonald’s.

As long as you’ll be working at your job, why not take the chance and work a network marketing business on the side? Go ahead and put in the 7 years of work and see what happens. What’s the worst thing that can happen?

It takes work to succeed in network marketing. Are you willing to do that work?
