For those of you who have been around since the beginning of my blog, you know that I do marathons. I do a half marathon in the spring and a full marathon in the fall.
My training ended last Saturday. I’ve just been keeping warmed up this week. Well, the big race is tomorrow morning. Just my luck, it will be the coldest morning of the season so far.
Oh well. That’s the way it goes.
It’s been a long 3 months of training. I’m a little excited. This is my 4th full marathon, so some of the shine has worn off of it. I’ll be glad when it’s over. I’ve had a foot injury for 14 months. I’ve just trained through the pain. I have an exposed nerve on the bottom of my foot. Yeah, it’s as painful as it sounds.
I’ve learned to tape my foot in a way that I can get 7 miles in before it starts to hurt. The problem now is that it’s a 26.2 mile event.
I know I can’t win. I’m a walker. Yes, I walk all 26.2 miles. But every year I try to get in the top 3000. I haven’t gotten there yet. I think last year I finished in #3214 place. Not too bad for someone who walks the whole way.
Maybe this will be my year to finish top 3000??
I never quit. So no matter what happens. No matter how much pain I am in I will finish.
I was writing this post just to let everyone know that I will be taking tomorrow off. I will do my best to post something on Sunday but no guarantees.
At worst I’ll be back on Monday.
Wish me luck.
