Time is your most precious commodity
We’re all born into this world with nothing and we’ll leave it the same way, with nothing. That’s right. You can’t take it with you. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t accumulate as much as you can or as much as you want. In fact, I encourage you to go after whatever it is that makes you happy. That could be money, cars, houses, investments, or just peace of mind. Whatever it is go out and get it.
The problem is that we are only given a certain amount of time on this earth. The bigger problem is that we don’t have any idea how much time we’ve been given.
I think it’s true what they say, “Youth is Wasted on the Young.”
When you’re young you think that you have all the time in the world. It probably seems that way to most young people. Your typical 21 year old probably has a good 50 or 60 years to go. That’s not forever, but it sure seems like it when you’re 21.
When you start to get older, you start to realize that you’re running out of time. All those plans that you thought about, when you were young, haven’t happened yet. You look back on your life and you ask yourself, “Where did all the time go?” It went by so fast. Then you look ahead, on the rest of your life and you still have another 40 years to go. If you are looking forward, it looks like you have all the time in the world, but if you look back, you realize that it goes by a lot faster than you thought it would.
It doesn’t matter whether you are 25 or 55, you have time left. You never know how much time you have left, but you do have the time that you can use to make the dreams, of your youth, come true.
The question is, “How are you going to use that time?”
Are going to float through the rest of your life or are you going to make a plan to get from where you are to the place that you want to be? It’s your life and your decision!
When you get to the end of your life will you be satisfied with what you accomplished? Or will you think that it was all wasted time? There aren’t too many things that are sadder than realizing that you do everything that you wanted to do. What you want to do with your life. It’s not like you get a second chance.
If you’re young, you’re probably thinking that I’m crazy. You’ve got time, right? If you’re older you know that I speak the truth. If you’re one that wants to try to accomplish your goals, the older you get the more of a sense of urgency you will get. Time is getting shorter by the minute.
Have you thought about it? Do you have any idea what your decision will be?
Is youth really wasted on the young?
