Did you have a nice New Year’s celebration?
I stayed up to watch the ball drop in Times Square. No, I didn’t go. I’d like to go some time. We’ll see what happens.
I did watch Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve show. I have to say that is nice that they’ve honored Dick Clark by keeping his name on the show. Ryan Seacrest is a reasonable substitute. If you watched the show, I know what you’re thinking.
Will Miley Cyrus ever settle down? In the grand scheme of things, it really doesn’t matter what she does or doesn’t do. Since the rest of the country has been talking about her for the last 6 months, I’d have to say, mission accomplished, for her.
She seems to have shed that Disney, squeaky clean image … for all time. Marketing? Hype? Probably so.
I don’t believe that anyone has to be so outrageous to get noticed. It does seem to work best for the Hollywood types. I think that she has successfully rebranded herself. We’ll have to wait and see if she has the talent to stay relevant.
Is there a takeaway for us? I’d say that you can learn from the get noticed part and not the outrageous part. You probably will never need to rebrand yourself, but you will need to get noticed in the sea of marketers out there.
I have to admit to being totally exhausted tonight. It’s been a long but, fun holiday season. I’m ready to go back to the regular routines of life and business.
I am wishing you peace, health and prosperity in the coming new year!
I would suggest that you decide where you want to be by the end of 2014. Make a road map of you will get there and implement it.
Remember the Chershire Cat in “Alice in Wonderland.” If you don’t know where you are going, then it doesn’t matter which way you go.
Determine your destination!
